I
am one of the founding members of Hospital Radio Exeter which started in
1974 (yes I was in shorts when we started) my love of radio has been
very special to me and when I was given my first broadcast on HRE as we
are fondly known I was given the news bulletin on Christmas day – well
you try to find news pre Web & Teletext days!!!! – I think my main story
was about a cat getting stuck up a tree.
Since those days I have
presented well all types of programmes from Country to Pop, Classical to
Easy Listening and not forgetting our main stay Request programmes.
For the last few years I have mainly been involved with administration
and the running of the station.
I do get let loose once
per month on a Sunday morning as part of the Sunday AM team where I can
normally be seen in the Chapel working our Outside Broadcast unit for
our live Sunday service.
My music choice is anything from Robbie Williams to All Angels, Mozart
to Abba.
In my real life I work for a college training actors from all around the
world – so I see lots of theatre and I am a great fan of Harold Pinter.
And some interesting facts – I have been involved in shopping surveys
for over 20 years and I keep a bar code machine in the house, enjoy
cooking, keep tropical fish and I love photography.
Famous person to have lunch with if given a choice – maybe Nigella
Lawson (cookery skills) or Julia Bradbury (lovely walking companion) or
Kate Melua (she could sing to me).
